Bio

George Scribner was born and raised in Panama, where he drew his way through grade school – mostly cars and cartoony iguanas. After graduating from high school in Florida he majored in film at Emerson College in Boston and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in animation.

George became an animator at the Walt Disney Studios in the early 80s, and in 1988 he directed the full length animated feature, Oliver and Company. After working on numerous features including The Lion King and Dinosaur, George is currently the animation director for the Walt Disney theme parks.

George's vivid paintings evoke his memories of the scenes and people of Panama. He works from photographs an on location.
